Formed in 2016, Brazilian Skies came about through a shared love of Brazilian music and the desire to explore music by some of the neglected masters of the style. Featuring compositions by Hermeto Pascoal, Moacir Santos, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Milton Nascimento, Baden Powell and others, the group’s repertoire embraces the variety of styles that fall under the broad heading of “Brazilian music.” Sambas, bossa novas, choros, tangos, and even a waltz or two are all part of the mix, along with Brazilian-influenced jazz tunes and original pieces from the band members.

Brazilian Skies is made up of some of the finest musicians in the area, whose collective credits span multiple groups and genres, including Baroque ensembles, jazz combos and big bands, and hip hop productions.
